Scout Association of Malta - Naxxar Scout Group. Cubs Information.

The Cub Section is for children of the age of 7 years to 11 years.

The Cubs section model, also referred to as "The Pack" is based on Rudyard Kipplings book - The Jungle Book.

The cub program's aim is to teach the children a sense of responsibility, team and leadership roles through fun and play.

The program starts with the 'Tender Paw' section, which is an introduction to the scouting ideals and also to our Maltese National Identity.

After the "Tender Paw" the program is subdivided into 3 sections; the "Bronze Arrow"; the "Silver Arrow" and the "Gold Arrow".

All arrow sections are designed with the children in mind and their level reflects the child's age. All arrows teach the Cub life and scouting skills, environmental protection and education and above all our National Identity and history.

After the cub finishes the Gold Arrow and is of 10 years of age, he/she starts the link badge; a programme which prepares the child to go to the next level of scouting - The Troop.

When the link badge is achieved the children would be handed to the Scout Leader to join the troop section in a going up ceremony held at the group headquarters.
